Conference "Autonomous Mobile Services"
This conference fills the first day of the Second Innovation Forum "Autonomous, Mobile Services - Services for Mobility". It is opened by the President of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Carsten Busch, with a welcoming address. In his speech, the President refers to the tension between the joy and fun of research on the one hand and responsibility for its results on the other, which is particularly serious in the areas of mobility support and autonomous robotic systems. He expresses his pleasure that the cooperation between the HTW Berlin and its affiliated institute, the GFaI, is given a further concrete component with the Innovation Forum.

Finally, he wishes the entire event every success by handshake with Prof. Iwainsky, the main network manager of MoDiSeM.
In his short welcome, Prof. Iwainsky refers to the excellent ambience of the event on the beautifully designed campus with its reconstructed industrial buildings on the banks of the river Spree. For the Innovation Forum, the immediate proximity of the lecture hall, exhibition rooms and the outdoor area in front of them on one level is particularly advantageous.
The further course of the conference also follows the programme (Exception: Due to prevention of Dr. M. Bartholmai his lecture in section 1 is given by Mr. N. Winkler).
The co-organizer Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH has designed the conference section "Lightweight Construction and Bionics in Robotics", which is moderated by Mr. Helling. The spectrum of lectures ranges from humanoid robots to maritime robotics with highly impressive videos of the use of an artificial manta ray in the ocean and bionic methods for lightweight construction to interesting industrial applications of robots.
The interest of the participants in the conference is high. Several contributions to the discussion thank the organizers for the attractive programme and express the wish for a third innovation forum. Prof. Iwainsky informs that this is already planned for 2020. At the end of the conference, he announces that conference proceedings will be published for download on the basis of the presentations, including the Transfer Day and Citizens' Forum on 06/05/2019.
The accompanying exhibition is also well attended during the scheduled times. The exhibits arouse great interest, although test drives with innovative electric vehicles are reserved for the next day of the Innovation Forum.
